1. About us

Untold Journeys is a trading name of Eleni Moraiti, a travel operator registered in Greece and licensed under MHTE 0260Ε70000055800, which also operates Diving Journeys. We design and arrange tailor-made travel and related travel services worldwide, operating as a digital-first agency based in Athens.

2. Booking & confirmation

A booking becomes binding once we have issued a written confirmation and received your deposit. The person making the booking confirms that they are authorised to do so on behalf of every traveller named in it, and that all information provided is accurate and complete.

Unless your quotation states otherwise, a deposit of 25% of the total journey cost is payable at the time of booking, and the balance is due 60 days before departure. Bookings made within 60 days of departure must be paid in full at the time of booking.

Some services — for example private yacht charters, safari lodges and camps, expedition cruises and peak-season stays — are subject to supplier conditions with higher deposits or earlier payment dates. Where this applies, the specific payment and cancellation terms will be set out in your quotation and confirmation, and those terms take precedence over this section and section 4.

3. Prices & payment

Prices are quoted per person unless otherwise stated and are based on availability at the time of the quotation. We reserve the right to correct any errors in quoted prices before your booking is confirmed. Prices may be affected by factors outside our control, such as currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, taxes or changes in third-party rates.

4. Cancellations & refunds

If you cancel your booking, the following charges apply, unless different terms are stated in your quotation and confirmation:

  • More than 60 days before departure: loss of deposit
  • 30–60 days before departure: 50% of the total journey cost
  • Fewer than 30 days before departure: 100% of the total journey cost

If we have to cancel your journey, you will receive either a full refund or, if you prefer, a comparable alternative journey. Refunds are processed within 14 business days.

5. Changes to your booking

We will always do our best to accommodate requests to change a confirmed booking, but changes depend on availability and cannot be guaranteed. Amendments may incur an administration fee in addition to any costs charged by our suppliers.

6. Travel insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all travellers booking with Untold Journeys. Your policy should cover, as a minimum, medical expenses, emergency evacuation and repatriation, and cancellation and curtailment. It is your responsibility to ensure your cover is suitable for your destination and for every activity included in your journey, such as safaris, boating or yacht charters, and remote or high-altitude travel.

7. Passports, visas & health

You are responsible for holding a valid passport and any visas, entry permits, vaccinations or health documents required for your journey. We are happy to give general guidance, but you should check the latest requirements with the relevant authorities and your doctor before you travel.

8. Third-party suppliers

Many elements of a journey — including flights, hotels, lodges and camps, yachts and cruise vessels, guides and local transport — are provided by independent third-party suppliers. Their services are subject to their own terms and conditions. Where we act as an agent for these suppliers, we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

9. Our liability

We take reasonable care in arranging your journey. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, extreme weather, political unrest and pandemic-related restrictions. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

10. Activities & personal responsibility

Some journeys include activities that carry a degree of risk, such as wildlife safaris, boat and yacht trips, water sports, hiking and travel in remote areas. You take part in these activities at your own risk, and you agree to follow the instructions of guides, crew and local operators at all times. Operators may refuse participation where they have concerns about safety or fitness.

11. Emergency assistance

All our travellers have access to 24/7 emergency assistance throughout their journey. The emergency number is sent with your booking confirmation.

12. Complaints

If something is not right during your journey, please tell the supplier concerned and Untold Journeys immediately, so we have the chance to resolve it on the spot. Any complaint after your return must be sent to us in writing within 28 days of the end of your journey.

13. Force majeure

We are not liable for any failure to perform our obligations caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemics and government action.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Greece, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Greek courts.
